Fined total of £37, 10 in 1777 for non-performance of military duty. The Benners were Mennonites who did not, of course, believe in military participation and were referred to as "Non-Associators." Continued on militia rolls in 1780-1783 Since it was 1790 before known records show one child under 16 was living at home, it can be speculated that there may have been other children that were grown and left home, or did not reach maturity.
