However, her death certificate states that her father's name was Peter Reitz. Peter Reitz also appears in "The Wenger Book." It is easy to assume why Rice appears on the death certificate of her daughter Mary as the maiden name. One could have easily confused Reitz with Rice. As a result of this finding, Rice now disappears as a family surname unless it turns up in a yet to be researched branch of the family tree.
In the series from the Montgomery Co. Historical Society, Hannah Benner Roach, "Detective Work Among the Benners," 1949-1953, Roach cited Rachael's birth name as being Yeigh. However, there is no evidence supporting that this is correct. The evidence very strongly supports the name Reitz as being the correct name. Parents: Peter REITZ and Elizabeth GRILEY.

"Yeigh" not "Rice." Once of these must be in error or Rachel was married more than
once. More sources must be found to confirm the true maiden name. Children were: Mary A. BENNER.

Anna Maria REMELIN was Evangelical Lutheran on 18 Jun 1780 in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nockamixon Twp., Bucks Co., Pa..⁽⁷⁹¹²⁾ It should be noted that Anna, according to the source, was the widow of Johann Gottfriet Miller. This opens the possibility that Anna married Rev. Rapp sometime later and was Catharina Rapp's stepmother.

However, researchers John Slabaugh and Glenn Peters believe that the most likely family is that of Sebastian Mangolt [sic] and Anna Keyser (see notes on that family for more information).

The other two unlinked families then are headed by:
(1) Friedrich Mangold and Barbara Greider, or
(2) Friedrich (or Jacob?)Mangold and Elsbeth (Elisabeth?) Rippstein.
