Indiana County

Indiana County was created on March 30, 1803. It was formed from parts of Westmoreland County and Lycoming County. Historians believe it was named for the Territory of Indiana. The county was attached to Westmoreland County until 1806. The county seat of Indiana was laid out in 1805 and incorporated on March 11, 1816.
