Montgomery CountyMontgomery County was created on September 10, 1784, from part of Philadelphia County. It was named for General Richard Montgomery. Norristown is the county seat, named after landowner Isaac Norris. The borough was laid out in 1784 and incorporated on March 31, 1812. |
