Franklin CountyFranklin County was named for Benjamin Franklin and was created on September 9, 1784. It was formed from part of Cumberland County. The county seat is Chambersburg, founded in 1764 by Benjamin Chambers. It was incorporated as a borough on March 21, 1803. |
